This once broken hand rake shows how Ed was resourceful in repurposing materials.

Hand Rake

This makeshift hand rake began as a commercial model, likely salvaged after losing its handle. Ed took what appears to be the remains of a hollow steel pole step, shoved the remains of the hand rake in it, and masterfully locked it all in place with a strategically placed nail. As the handle was hammered in place, the nail and the hand rake portion all locked in place. It obviously worked quite well as it’s still sturdy 70+ years later.
