I've been to Coral Castle quite a few times and it's never been brought up that all the metal used to make his is equipment it's all been Forge welded so he was either a blacksmith or a blacksmith somewhere in the area did this for him if you look at all the things that are circular or have been put together they were Forge welded I brought this up there but nobody ever seem to pay any attention check it out

It says that each wall section weighs 58 tons. With the given dimensions and given weight pr cubic foot it can only be 5.8 tons. Still an impressive stone to handle singlehandedly.

Had the honor of visiting Sunday September 3,2017. It was my first time visiting with my husband. I was truly amazed at Castle and learning the story behind it. It is truly romantic the love one can have for someone and to build this to prove it. I can not wait to visit again and hopefully next visit he able to do the tour since this time around was unable to due to the heat and the tour guide talked so low was hard to hear so my parents who have been there before told me about everything. Pictures came out beautifully. Thank you for allowing my family to come visit and walk around.

Good evening Ed,
I look forward to one day having the honor to gaze upon your grand creation. I've read your story and seen the pictures of your castle and I can say that I truly wish to see your life's work in person.
You are a prime example of hard work and dedication
and that is something to always be proud of.

Went to the castle during 1980 while serving at homestead air force base. Have not been back to Florida since, will return march 2016. Think my wife will find the castle interesting.

I believe Ed did understood more of nature as the ancient egyptians did then we do today. I also believe Nicoloai Tesla would have been intriged by Ed's power of electricity, manipulations of natural forces, and the engineering marvel he left behind. Of all the intriguing things that involve Ed's legacy, the thing most interesting to me is the siezed notebooks and schematics seized by the fbi after Ed's demise. Is the 50 year ban of secrecy uo yet? I want to know what was written in those books. Ed is my constant humble reminder that we don't half of what we think we know.

Hello, my friend and need to settle a debate. He said that there was a Ford axle under the 9 ton gate, but read a few years back that everyone was astonished to find out Ed tricked everyone and that it was actually a cone shaped stone of unknown origin.

Can you please correct one of us as to if there really was a stone or axle used to pivit that huge gate stone?

Sincerely,
Derrick Anderson

For a time when my mom was a kid (1940’s), she lived with her family in a work camp near Coral Castle. I think Ed must have known how poor these families were because he the kids from the camp in for free, so they were frequent visitors. The kids played hide and seek and other games in the park with Ed joining in. According to my mom, he could run really fast. Ed’s rule was that they had to sit quietly when a paying customer arrived, but as soon as they were gone, the games were back on. We have many pictures of my mom and uncle, along with their friends, at Coral Castle, including a few of them sitting in the crescent moon and other sculptures. According to my mom, he was a kind man and seemed to really enjoy having the kids around.
